Obama Walking the Plank of His Own Making. Fellow Democrats Sawing Plank.

Schadenfreude.  It’s what’s for dinner.

Democrats are running away from Obamacare, which will likely be ruled unconstitutional in June.

Sen. Jim Webb said the law would be Obama’s “biggest downside” in the election and had cost him “a lot of credibility as a leader.”

Some of us were at your office, providing such advice to this affect during the run up to this vote, Jimmy.  I saw you walking down the hallway towards your office and once you saw us gathered outside your office you ran from us.  We were there and we were ignored.  Now you hike up your skirt and run away from a re-election bid because you know you screwed up big time.

No worries though, mate.  We’ll release the same fury against your replacement candidate, Timmy Kaine, that we would have on you.  Timmy is a big Obama guy.  Big Obama guys don’t do so well with the electorate since 2008.

And then there’s this from former Congressman Artur Davis from Alabama.

“I think the Affordable Care Act is the single least popular piece of major domestic legislation in the last 70 years,” he said. “It was not popular when it passed; it’s less popular now.”

And now Democrats are running away from President Obama’s blockage of the Keystone XL Pipeline.  Funny how constituent feedback about the pain at the pump brings new wisdom to even the most radically green Democrats.

Sharks are swirling below the plank.  Sharks of Obama’s own creation.  Shutting down and restricting coal fired power plants isn’t going to help, either.  When electricity rates ‘necessarily skyrocket’ (your words, not mine) going into the cooling season, this will add more pressure.  Coal fired power plants are shutting down because of Obama.

When GSA employees lavishly waste taxpayer money and flaunt it on You Tube, that doesn’t help either.

When Obama uses the Justice Department to promote illegal gun running resulting in the deaths of American border and ICE agents and this Justice Department turns a blind eye to voter intimidation perpetrated by the Black Panthers while harassing states over voter ID laws and immigration enforcement laws, that doesn’t help either.

When Obama racks up $5 Trillion in debt in 3 years, tosses our money at pet projects that are massive failures like Solyndra, LightSquared, and others, that doesn’t help either.

When Obama takes an unprecedented number of vacations while the ranks of the unemployed moved from gainful employment and self esteem onto demeaning government dependency, well that don’t much help, either.

You know what, Champ?  You’re doomed.  If your cratering poll numbers don’t advise you, then your own party distancing themselves from you certainly does.

America’s got a big party planned for November 6th.

You’re not invited.

Tiger Wood’s 924 Day PGA Tournament Drought Over. U. S. Citizen’s 1082 Day Drought without a National Budget? Not so much

Today marks the first day since Tiger Wood’s world came unravelled in scandal and shame that he’s won a PGA Tour event. He just won the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

That’s his first PGA Tour victory since September 13, 2009.
It was 157 days before Tiger’s last victory that the the Democratically controlled United States Senate, also riddled with scandal and shame, passed a budget. April 9, 2009.
Congratulations to Tiger and shame on the Democrats.

MSNBC sucks so I’ll do the analysis for them…

Alright, let’s do this…

The Republican-controlled House on Friday evening passed Speaker John Boehner’s revised bill to raise the debt ceiling, cut spending and call for a balanced-budget amendment, sending it to the Democratic-controlled Senate, where leaders said it would be thwarted.

The bill passed 218-210, with no Democratic support.

The short-term, $900 billion increase in the nation’s borrowing limit also contains $917 billion in spending cuts over a decade.

So another bill passed the House with no Democratic support.  Shocker.  What heinous concessions does this Republican bill ask for?  Well it asks for about 4 months of debt ceiling increase in exchange for equivalent cuts in the current budget and some consideration for cutting spending, capping growth to GDP, and balancing our budget against requirements.  If you’re a big government type, that’s like someone pissing in your Cheerios.  “We want to permanently confine the government’s fiscal growth to about 19% of GDP.”  Sounds awfully damn reasonable to me…

Senate Democrats vow to block it in favor of a longer-term $2.5 trillion debt limit increase with about $2.2 trillion in spending cuts.

Riiiight.  Obama is weak sauce and you know that if he has to talk fiscal policy during his reelection campaign, he’s sunk.  Better tuck this problem away safely on the back shelf for the next 18+ months so he doesn’t have to defend the expansion of government that has occurred on his watch.

Rep. Kathy Hochul, D-NY, told the House before the vote, “Never, never has there been an intentional disaster perpetrated by the very people who were sent here to be the caretakers of this country. … Am I really supposed to tell the greatest generation that when they passed us the torch, we dropped it because we couldn’t compromise?”

What about the next generation?  Are your talking points really this two dimensional?  If I ask a WWII vet to choose between himself and his great granddaughter he will laugh in my face every time.  You know why?  The choice was made long ago, but you’re just too dumb and selfish to understand.  If you have a kid, you live your life for them.  The thought of someone leeching off of the future you’re working to provide for your kids would make any honest person mad beyond reason.  Rep Kathy Hochul is an idiot.  In your face NY.

“Any solution must be bipartisan,” said Obama from the Diplomatic Room at the White House. “We’re in rough agreement,” said the president. “There are plenty of ways out of this mess.”

Yeah, the GOP offered like 5 of them over the last 2 years.  Funny how running the government without a budget wasn’t a problem for you when it made your progressive redistribution agenda work.  Now that someone is standing in the middle of the road yelling that if we don’t stop we’re screwed you’re talking about, “plenty of ways out of this mess.”  Yep.  The Republicans just passed another one tonight.  Grow a pair and read it to the Senate.

“The time for putting party first is over,” he added. “It’s time to step up and show the leadership the American people expect.”

Dude, really?  Empty suit.  My son would make a better leader than you – at least he hasn’t learned to lie to my face…yet.

He later reiterated his call to action on Twitter: “The time for putting party first is over. If you want to see a bipartisan #compromise, let Congress know. Call. Email.Tweet. –BO”

How’d that work out brother?  What?  40,000 people unsubscribed to your demagoguery?  I…am…shocked.

I have an idea.  Let’s raise the debt limit high enough to carry us about 3-4 months out with the commensurate cuts in government to ensure we aren’t just floating the cost of doing business.  Contingent on passage, an amendment must be sent to the states for review – detailing a plan to curtail future spending to 19% of GDP or less.  This process would of course need to be debated in every pub and living room in America….hell it would almost be like the American people had a voice in it.  Then we vote…democracy style.  Does that sound reasonable Mr. President?  Harry?

That’s the Republican plan in a nutshell.  Any amendment to the Constitution would ensure healthy debate over the necessity of its contents.  If the American people are on record as being against limitless spending the progressive agenda is dead.  The Democrats must stop the legislation that leaves the house from getting into the body politic at all costs because it is their death sentence.

Good riddance.

Harry Reid is a douche

“Obvious what is being done in the House is not compromise. It is being jammed through with all kinds of non-transparent dealings, people shuffling in and out of the Republican Leader’s office. We’re recognizing that the only compromise that there is, is mine,” Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) said.

Read that.  Think about it.  The only compromise that there is, is mine?  Really?  Because that’s what a compromise is Harry…when you get what you want.  Interesting that you consider it ridiculous that we would want an open debate on the merits of legislation that has ACTUALLY PASSED THE HOUSE.  CCB is not compromise because Harry Reid doesn’t get what he wants…because President Obama doesn’t get what he wants.  What about the American people, gentlemen?  Take the bill off the table and read the damn thing to us.  Ask us what we want.  I promise…we’ll tell you.

August 2nd Debt Deadline Armageddon?

People aren’t falling for it.

In spite of all the claims of calamity and misery if the debt limit isn’t raised by August 2nd, a constant drumbeat from the White House, Congressional Democrats and their megaphone in the lame stream media, apparently we’ve grown accustomed to these kinds of wild-eyed claims in the past that proved to be utterly false.

TARP, anyone?  Stimulus?  Automaker Bailouts?  They were all sold as absolutely necessary and something that needed to be done with great haste.

We recognize this all-too-familiar tactic used to frighten people into going along with each hare-brained government scheme to seize more and more of the economy.

As to whether or not people believe that the failure to raise the debt ceiling by August 2nd has been successfully sold, here’s an online poll from Mark Levin’s website.

I realize that this is not a scientific poll and it is from Levin’s listeners, probably the most informed and most conservative people in the country, but some of them actually fell for TARP initially.  92% of them think this whole thing is a con job and an artificial deadline being hyped by the most dishonest President ever to hold office.

Action Alert!!

Professor Jacobson over at Legal Insurrection is informing us that Harry Reid is pushing for a cloture vote as early as tomorrow and there are some RINOs who are on the fence and need a little nudge from a phone campaign.

Jack McConnell was completely under my radar, but after a quick read here he’s as slimy as they come. He made his fortune, which he amply shares with Democrats, on suing over lead paint.

Obama wants him on the First District Court of Appeals.

Drop by and check out Jacobson’s list of the wobblies with phone in hand.

Gas Pump Activism

Do you have to take these gas prices in silence? I don’t think so.

All you have to do is download this pdf, print out a few copies and put them, along with a roll of Scotch tape, into your car.

The next time you fill up, instead of watching in horror as the dollar amount on the pump races by as the gallons trickle into your tank, afix one of these to the pump.

Take care to not cover vital information regarding safety, etc. and don’t cover any advertising.

Then drive off with a smile on your face, knowing that when the next person drives up to the pump they’ll either agree with you and be pleased to know that they’re not alone, be better informed by your message or if it’s an Obamabot, you’ll have thrown water on their circuitry and ruined their day.

Here’s the pdf you can download for a better quality image for printing purposes…

ObamaGasPrices

Update: A certain gas station that caters to I-95 traffic in Ashland, VA has been ‘blogged’. I saw a man at the next pump read it thoroughly before filling his tank. He did NOT fly into a rage and tear it down.

It’s on!

Update2: The response to this post has been overwhelming! Welcome Instapundit, Ace of Spades, Weasel Zippers, AR15 and all.

A commenter at Ace recommends that the blue painters tape be used as it is easily removable without leaving traces of Scotch tape. That’s probably a good idea, although I’m not willing to lose the Republic over Scotch tape residue. That’s just me.

As for the artwork, such as it is, feel free to share it with whomever. We need to pin the gas price tail on this Donkey.

Update3: Someone suggested that we create a Spanish version of this. That’s a great idea!
If anyone can do the translation I’d be happy to do it. But no wise guys, please. I want you to know that I know several Spanish words, including cerveza, biblioteca, putana, pendejo and chimichanga, so I’ll catch you if you’re trying to scam me.

Update Again:
Here’s a great rework of the original from botnet.

The Gov’t Giveth and the Gov’t Taketh Away

Steve Wynn was lamenting the deteriorating lifestyle of his employees on Cavuto last night. Healthcare costs due to Obamacare, combined with a shrinking dollar are hurting the little people Obama pretends to care about.

Between rising fuel costs, which are the direct result of Obama and the Democrats energy policy, and the rising cost of bare essentials, people are really feeling the squeeze being put on them by their Federal Government.

The Consumer Price Index shows and inflation rate of 182% since 1982 and prices rose 2.1% for the first quarter of 2011. That’s an 8.4% annual rate!

Question is, are people who are hurt by Obamanomics smart enough to recognize cause and effect while they’re in the polling place?

57% Disapprove of Obama’s handling of the economy and his overall numbers are not good for an incumbent.
Note on this poll, this is just a random sample of adults, not likely voters, so I’d take the Presidential electoral polls with a large grain of salt.

I guess that’s why Obama is frantically raising money and campaigning like crazy.

Not that he ever stopped campaigning in the first place. The permanent campaign could hurt him though.

Stop bullsh1tting us and GET TO WORK, you bum!

Democrats Gone Wild: Part 14 Trillion….. and counting

Congressman Allen West’s office receives a little love letter with a supicious white powder in it. Not anthrax. Probably just Johnson & Johnson’s powder from the writer’s diaper. Stay tuned.

Meanwhile, Senator Chuck Schumer’s head is exploding over his dwindling power and is lashing out as well, calling the Tea Party contingent of the House of Represenatatives FLEAS.

It sucks to be Chuck

When either party goes to the extreme they don’t do the right thing,” said Schumer. “My experience is they lose politically, but much more importantly they do what is wrong for the country substantively.”

Yes, Chuck. That’s how we got Obamacare and that’s why you Democrats got your asses handed to you.
That was a brilliant observation. Thanks for the money quote. That will be of good use in the future.

Oh and Chuck, I AM a FLEA and I’ve got bubonic plague and I’m all over your ass.

Update: Make that 14 Trillion and ONE.
Congressman Jim Moran of Virginia goes ape shit on a disabled veteran in a Town Hall asking why he was not in Congress while the impending government shutdown is imminent and the man is concerned about getting paid.

Moran’s caring response of “Sit down or Leave” comes at about 4:10, after the veteran took umbrage at the Congressman characterizing his comments as “caustic”. The Democrats desire to maintain the high ground, accusing Republicans for the Government shutdown, keeps proving to be tenuous and they continue to provide volumes of campaign fodder at an impressive rate.

Keep giving them the microphone.

Jim Webb: Conscience of a Conformist

Jim Webb campaigned as a war hero and his own man, impervious to pressure from special interests and demands from the political machine.  Although I honor his military service and bravery, much like John McCain, heroic service during war time does not necessarily translate to heroic service in politics.

In spite of the very clear message from his constituents that they wanted no part of TARP, Stimulii, Bailouts, SCHIP, the confirmation of Eric Holder, Cash for Clunkers, Spending Freeze, School vouchers and Obamacare, Webb always surrendered his professed convictions and voted with this guy every single time on the major issues.

Birds of a Feather

But post-election Webb is seeing the handwriting on the wall and he’s doubling back, asserting that he quietly warned leadership that they were treading on thin ice with voters.

“I’ve been warning them,” Webb says, sighing, resting his chin on his hand. “I’ve been having discussions with our leadership ever since I’ve been up here. I decided to run as a Democrat because I happen to strongly believe in Jacksonian democracy. There needs to be one party that very clearly represents the interests of working people … I’m very concerned about the transactional nature of the Democratic Party. Its evolved too strongly into interest groups rather than representing working people, including small business people.”

I recall going to the Code Red Rally against Obamacare at the Senate on Dec. 15th of last year to meet with Webb’s Chief of Staff.  There were 20-30 of us in the hallway in front of his office waiting for our audience, when along ambles Jim Webb reading a document.  When he got about 50 feet away he glanced up, saw us there and did a quick exit into the nearest door.  The courageous Senator wanted no part of facing his constituents then and meekly joined his Party to vote in favor of Obamacare on Christmas Eve.

The time for hiding is over as the 2012 campaign started a week ago tomorrow.  It will do you no good to tell the voters that you were warning your leadership.  That was the time to show the courage of your convictions.  Either you don’t have any or you simply failed.

Update from Pajamas Media:

Senator Jim Webb (D-VA), a former Republican, rode a Democratic wave to a narrow victory in 2006, but PPP found Webb trailing former Senator George Allen (R-VA) in a rematch.

This sounds like a set up by the Democrat leaning PPP.  They’d love nothing more than to dance the Macaca again.  Sorry, but George Allen is my last choice to run against Webb.
