Phony Civility

14 Jan

It is being reported that Democrat Congressman Mark Udall is proposing that rather than sit on opposite sides of the aisle for the upcoming State of the Union address that both parties comingle.

In the wake of the attempted assassination of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords many lawmakers are calling for more civil US political discourse. Sitting together might be a practical first step toward that goal, according to Senator Udall.

That’s total nonsense.

As Rush pointed out, the only reason the Democrats want to do this is to hide the magnitude of their dimished ranks on the floor of the House from the American people.

Don’t fall for it, Republicans.  It’s a trick, just like always.

Gee, none of these guys were for civility when the paragons of etiquette (Dick Durban and Ted Kennedy) would go to the Senate floor and call Bush a Nazi, etc. Although, I think the Dems motivation for the seating arrangement may simply be that everyone wants to get as far away as possible from Pelosi. I would if I were them.

C’mon, Saddlesore. All of those Dems want to have pillow talk with the former Speaker. Figurately speaking, of course.

This whole ‘hand in hand’ thing is nothing but a ruse. Are Republicans stupid enough to fall for it?

Actually, yes, there are Republicans stupid enough to fall for it.

If this happens it will be a victory for the No-Labels group who now that I think about it had the most to gain from the fallout of the attempted assasination… mmmh?
