Virginia State Board of Elections Asks Voter Participation Center to Stop Sending Voter Registration Forms

Update: The Virginia State Board of Elections has decided NOT to call for an investigation of the Voter Participation Center and will NOT take action on a Romney campaign request to examine voter registration forms submitted by VPC’s over the last two months.

The State Board of Elections is meeting today to discuss whether to call for an investigation into the ‘non-partisan’ Voter Participation Center. In the meantime they have instructed VPC to stop sending out their voter registration forms that have certain fields preprinted.
VPC has been implicated into at least on case where a felon voted illegally after filling out one of their forms.

The saga continues. Disrupt The Narrative first brought aspects of this case to light when we posed several unanswered questions about VPC and the seeming irregularities.

Then we exposed the fact that this is a highly partisan group by examining the members of their Board of Directors. This group has ties directly to George Soros and MoveOn.org.

This was followed by the exposing of the VPC founder’s political donations, all of which went to Democrats.

We’ll see what the State Board of Elections decides today.

Voter Participation Center Partners with MoveOn.Org

The non partisan claims of Voter Participation Center continue to be eroded. Yesterday we showed that the entire board of Women’s Voices Women Vote, the associated political wing of VPC is packed with left wing political operatives.

In today’s Richmond Times Dispatch writer Mark Bowes reveals that volunteers from MoveOn.org have been doing follow up calls to recipients of Voter Participation Center’s voter registration forms.

The link between the VPC and MoveOn.org was discovered by Walter and Judy Hoye of Rockville, who were puzzled in June when they received a voter registration form in the mail for their 38-year-old daughter, a registered voter who lives 12 miles away in Henrico County and has never lived at their current address.

The mystery deepened when they received a phone call several weeks after receiving the partially filled-out form from the Voter Participation Center.

The caller, they eventually learned, was a volunteer with MoveOn.org.

Just as a tease, later today we will show the political donations of VPC’s Page Gardner. Let’s just say that you won’t be surprised.

Surprisingly, ‘Civic Groups’ Don’t Want An Investigation into Voter Participation Center

I’m shocked! Shocked!

A letter to Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli and the State Board of Elections is objecting to any investigation into VPC.

“Should the State Board of Elections acquiesce to the Romney campaign’s attempt to intervene in lawful voter registration efforts, it would be in violation of its legal obligation to timely process voter registration applications and would cast a pall of confusion over new voters in Virginia,” says the letter.

The letter is signed by ProgressVA, SEIU Local 512, Virginia Organizing, NARAL Pro-Choice VA, the Virginia Chapter of the Sierra Club, The Martin Luther King Jr. Living History and Public Policy Center, Virginia New Majority, the Voice of Vietnamese Americans, and Tenants and Workers United.

I’ve got to say that the Richmond Times Dispatch is doing an outstanding job of following this story. Kudos to Wesley Hester and Mark Bowes.
