There is a myth that those who reject amnesty also reject all immigration and worse, are racists by default. This is a false argument by those who refuse to debate the issue. Most U.S. citizens are here because their ancestors were immigrants. The difference is their method of arrival. Whether by choice or by servitude, they were not sneaking across the borders by the millions, unchecked by the federal government.
In June of 2012, through the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), president and candidate Obama completely ignored Congress and the will of the people by granting amnesty to an estimated 800,000 illegal aliens between the ages of 16 and 30. Is anyone unclear about his motives?
The following April 2013 – less than one year later, it was reported that illegal crossings had doubled with many illegals telling Border Agents that Obama would let them go.
A favorite argument of supporters of amnesty is to use children to skew the narrative to the emotional. They argue that we cannot separate children from their parents. Every day in America millions of American children are separated from their parents through divorce, death, custody battles, job requirements, and incarceration. How do they answer for the illegal immigrant parent who leaves their child(ren), spouse, and other loved ones to travel illegally to the United States? Wouldn’t the family unit be better served if they followed the legal process set in place to come to the United States together – as a family?
In March 2013 ICE released 68,000 illegal aliens with criminal backgrounds into the general population of the United States. Why are we releasing criminals?
In April of 2014 Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto said he is “indignant” at the United States’ deportation of Mexican migrants and described U.S. lawmakers as demonstrating a “lack of conscience” in failing to pass immigration reform. Mexico is using the US as an outsourced welfare state and a means to rid itself of its poorest and least desirable citizens. President Nieto should be working to improve the conditions in Mexico for his citizens, not chastising those who don’t approve of his game. Illegals are sending billions of dollars back to Mexico, no wonder that he is supporting this scheme.
Illegal entry into Mexico is equivalent to a felony punishable by two years’ imprisonment and illegal re-entry after deportation is punishable by ten years’ imprisonment. Foreigners can be kicked out of Mexico without any due process. Native-born Mexicans are actually empowered to make citizens arrests of illegal aliens and turn them in to authorities.
In May, 2014, we learned that 60,000 unaccompanied “children” from Central America have arrived at the U.S. border with an additional 30,000 to 60,000 expected by the end of the year. According to multiple reports from Central America, the Obama administration has indicated that children will not be returned should they make it to the United States. These reports are further substantiated not only by the administration’s directive to relocate these “refugees” into the interior U.S., but also by a recently (June) discovered January 2014 Request For Proposal on Fed Biz Ops for the escort of 64,000 unaccompanied minors from the border to other states. How did they know in January that this crisis would occur unless it has been orchestrated by the Obama Administration?
A subset of the illegal immigrant population that is completely skirted by the “family unity” and “civil rights” propagandists are the terrorists who are entering our country though Mexico and Canada, and those who just manage to come into the United States and never leave either through work and student visas, or passport. Gangs like MS-13 are wreaking havoc throughout the United States and most famously, the 9/11 terrorists were in the U.S. illegally. These particular illegals have a strong anti-American attitude.. They are not here to assimilate or for a better life. They are here to destroy us. This is not a clandestine objective, but the only people who don’t seem to hear their intent are those who are blinded by their quest for power.
Americans still embrace the idea of legal immigration. Our only request is that they come to our shores legally and assimilate into our culture. Those who come simply to re-create their former country and community within the borders of the United State have defeated the purpose.
