It’s Official. The Chattering Class Has Run Out of Topics to Chatter About.

17 Oct

This morning on Fox Biz there was actually someone postulating about an electoral vote tie, 269-269, with no candidate reaching the 270 vote threshold in order to win the presidency.

Sorry.  It was background noise so I don’t know who actually went on the air with this and I don’t remember which show it was on.  It wasn’t on Varney, so I guess it was the 11am show.  The chatter channels are on in my home pretty much all of the time.  It’s simply a blur.

But the hilarious part was that this individual actually went on to say that according to constitutional provisions for tie-breaking, the Republican controlled House of Representatives gets to pick the president and the Democratic controlled Senate gets to pick the VP, so there is some remote possibility that  we could have a President Romney and Vice President Biden.

Is this what keeps this guy up at night?

Call me crazy, but rather than focusing on a potential tie, I’m still wondering just how big of a landslide for Romney it’ll be.  It’s going to be a bloodbath.  It’s not even going to be close.

Obama is going to be purged like the last meal one takes before preparing for a colonoscopy.

But if this far fetched fantasy really comes true, Romney will simply put Biden in a round room and tell him to stand in a corner.

This could be worth seeking a line on in Vegas. But seriously, if that is truly the rule of law, would you really expect Obama or the Supreme Court to uphold it? The lawsuits would last at least 4 years with no decision, leaving The One in office for his full second term. Executive order don’t ya know.

Maybe we let the UN decide?

Romney is going to mop the floor with Obama. It will be priceless to hear the media lamenting O’s loss, blaming the racist, greedy, sexist, homophobic retrograde Republicans who think trillions of dollars of new debt, a moribund economy and a supine economy are bad things.
