With Record Drought Wiping Out The Corn Crop…I Have a Question

15 Jul

Now that we’re faced with a corn shortage, which takes precedent; food supply or the Ethanol mandate?

I don’t know.

It’s just a question.

Does the pseudo-environmental/federal corn subsidy mandate supercede the requirement to feed the people and the animals that require corn as part of their diet?

What does the law say? I fear that I already know the answer and I suspect that starving people will be driving vehicles still fueled by corn.

If only feeding people was that easy. The corn that goes into ethanol is truly cattle or hog feed, and that translates into steaks and bacon. It’s not like the starving unwashed are going to eat that corn. However, at the government teat they will, instead, eat bacon and steak and likely potato chips, Big Macs, and other nutritious foods on their EBT cards. It’s a lose lose situation.
