This mailer arrived in our box for my wife today. My first suspicion was that this mailer was under her ‘familiar’ name, not her ‘legal’ name. Plus, she’s already registered to vote.
But there was something fishy about this mailer so I couldn’t help but delve deeper.
It appeared to come from the Virginia State Board of Elections, but upon further investigation it actually came from the Voter Participation Center, which is a partner organization with the George Soros funded Center for American Progress and both groups have direct ties to the Obama White House. It started out as part of the Tides Foundation. Looking at the biographies on these sites show lots of people with ties to the Obama and Clinton Administrations, and is part of the Democrats’ criminal syndicate. Have a look at this from Discover the Networks. And this from Wikipedia.
The VPC also focuses on educating policymakers and media on issues impacting what it calls the “rising American electorate”, including a series of reports produced in March 2010, in partnership with the Center for American Progress.
Now. Notice the address on the return envelope
The entire address for the State Board of Elections is correct up until the zip code, so this is NOT going to the State Board of Elections at all, but to some unknown post office box to land in the hands of God knows? That you are to put your full name, Social Security Number, address and date of birth is a real cause for concern in the age of rampant identity theft. But I digress.
Notice how official looking this is, then notice the black print in the gray background showing Voter Participation Center, with an address of 7109 Staples Mill Rd, #160, Richmond, VA
I decided to take a little ride to see what was at this address and here it is.
After more digging it turns out that the very same thing happened in Wisconsin back in February, including the zip code spoofing of their Government Accountability Board. The blogger over at the Lizzie Files put up a post, showing the exact form from the same group with minor differences like the mailing address.
Also in February, VPC was sending out invalid forms in Colorado.
World Net Daily just reported that VPC doesn’t much care if they’re mailing these forms to non-citizens, either.
VPC Chief Operating Officer Gail Kitch said the potential for voter fraud and citizenship status is not the group’s concern.
“That’s not really the issue,” she said. “I couldn’t answer that question based on the level at which we’re involved. I mean, their citizenship is not something … we would not have any way of knowing that.”
Kitch added that her organization is relying on the integrity of those who receive the applications.
“I think the person themselves, the person who is receiving the form, has the obligation. We’re just sending the form; we’re not even registering people to vote,” she said.
“This is not issue we’re addressing,” she said. “In other words, is this person actually a U. S. citizen?”
Be very, very cautious this election cycle. The Democrats are up to their usual corrupt behavior and there is sure to be more of it coming down the pike.
UPDATE: Look for more information sometime tomorrow. This mailer was received over the weekend so contacting the State Board of Elections, the United States Postal Service or Voter Participation Center was not possible. Those are on my To Do list for first thing tomorrow.
I’ll fill you in with the results of my discovery as soon as I can.
UPDATE: The call to the State Board of Elections was a bit disappointing, when they told me to just ‘Destroy It’, then furnished a phone number that turned out to be Voter Participation Center’s unsubscribe line.
In communications with J. Christian Adams from the Election Law Center, he indicated that it’s not illegal, even if they are spoofing the address. But since nobody knows who is actually receiving this highly sensitive information and what their intentions are or how trustworthy the recipient is.
More calls have been made and the Attorney General’s office has been made aware, as has the Commonwealth’s Attorney.
Additional calls and inquiries are under way.

What has this got to do with voter photo ID? If it is true it is voter registration fraud. If the registration is accepted by the state they can only vote once and a photo ID will not make any difference. To stop voter fraud stop registration fraud. I can see requiring positive when registration. After you register the state issues a voter ID card and that should be all you need to vote.

According to the Republican-appointed secretary of the Winchester electoral board, there is no voter fraud because the electoral board members take a solemn oath to prevent it. Just ask her, and she will go on ad infinitum, ad nauseum.

My husband worked at our June primary election. He says the way Iowa’s system is set up, all voters had to show photo ID’s; new voters had to show the photo ID as well as a piece of mail or receipt addressed to them at the address shown on the license. One probable “non-citizen” showed up with her daughter in tow to vote. They were not in the system, BUT were noted as already having voted absentee. When asked about this, their reply was, “We lost the absentee ballots.” But they had to be given a ballot. However, the procedure goes like this: they got PROVISIONAL ballots when they showed up in person to vote, that were attached to the absentee record after they voted. This will be checked by the board against the actual absentee ballots. Only one ballot vote is allowed to count.
I’m with Sue VDB: all this info on that fake notification will probably be sold by whoever solicited this, to an illegal. Oh, and hubby had a day of “school” to work at this election. He said voters are NEVER asked to give a Social Security number, so that should be a major red flag.

I beg to differ with you on the Soc Sec number. Go to the Va Voter Registration site. The Voter ID application absolutely asks for your social secrity number and other forms of ID.

It’s a shame that grown men would have to cheat just to win.What a Role model the Democrats are, I wonder if they beat or punish their children when they are caught with their fingers in the cookie Jar, or do they reward them, and say, “Good Job”, ” your the apple of daddie’s eye”. I just went to the Virginia Board of Elections website and clicked on the Voter Registration Form. On page 1, Mailing Instructions it says · Place completed application in an envelope.
· Write your name and return address on envelope.
· Write the address of the voter registration office for the county or city where you live. List provided on
the next page.
On page 2 there is a list of voter registration offices by county or city. Not a single one of those addresses includes the Virginia Board of Elections office on Main Street in Richmond City. They are ALL PO boxes.

The explanation of the incorrect zip could be as simple as a typo. The name and address of the Virginia State Board of Elections are otherwise correct. See:

No. They are intentionally deceving people into thinking that this is a valid registration form and the zip code spoofing is fraud. They’re harvesting voter info, probably doing research into the political leanings of the applicant and either submitting or not submitting the application based on any results they find.

I doubt this is aimed at voter fraud… More likely than not, this is a sophisticated phishing scheme aimed at collecting SSNs for identity theft purposes. The request for complete SSN information was what tipped me off that this was some kind of phishing scheme. I checked the voter registration forms for:
Oregon
California
Washington
Idaho
Nevada
Arizona
Virginia
(hardly a representative sample, I know…I live on the West coast) and NONE of these ask for a COMPLETE SSN. If they ask for SSN information in lieu of a driver’s license number or State ID card number at all, the forms ask for only the last 4 digits.
Also, the quote from Wikipedia regarding the assertion that the Voter Participation Center is a ‘partner organization’ with the Center for American Progress is accurate. The ‘ties to the Obama White House’ are pretty tenuous however… Some of the people who worked in the White House under both Obama and Bill Clinton work at the VPC and the CAP. The same can be said for conservative organizations like the Heritage Foundation and the American Enterprise Institute.
The form presented in the post doesn’t look ANYTHING like the Virginia Voter Registration form published by the Virginia State Board of Elections. If someone tried to register to vote with the form presented in the post, the registration would surely be rejected and (especially, if there were LOTS of attempts) would surely draw the scrutiny of the Attorney General. More evidence, IMHO, that this is a phishing scheme and not an attempt at voter fraud. You can view the OFFICIAL Virginia Voter Registration form here:

In short, this is probably not an attempt at voter fraud but an insidious attempt at identity theft. The use of the imprimatur of the VPC is window dressing to make the material look more ‘official’.
Still, given that the form asks for complete SSN information, your warning has merit…just not for the reasons you give.

I love the way you glossed over the ties to the White House and the Democratic Party. These people are definitely tied directly to the Democratic Party and there are definitely people from OFA, the Obama outfit, in play here.
And you also got the part about the Social Security Number COMPLETELY WRONG when it comes to the official Virginia Form.
I’m not saying it’s a voter fraud op or an identity fraud op, but there is something untoward about the whole thing and I aim to get to the bottom of if.

The form attached states clearly that only the last four digits of the SSN are required whereas the actual VA form requires the entire 9 digit number, but the key issue is not the SSN issue, it’s the VPC and their partnership directly with the White House.

I received one of these last week in Missouri, for my nearly 4 year-old daughter. Really? Sheesh. The base address is in Springfield, MO. I went to their website and saw their little video about cats voting; they don’t seem too afraid to show that they are anti-republican.
I want to know how they got my daughter’s name and address. I am now worried about her identity, since there should be no public record with her information anywhere. Ugh. Worries of a modern age…

A couple months ago one of my elderly patients who lives up near the Hanover Courthouse showed me “something fishy he had received in the mail from Medicare asking for all this info about him and a donation”. It ended up being a very official looking fake Medicare/Government document that said something to the effect of “Help save Medicare” and they were asking for a donation. At the bottom mixed into the very small print it stated that the donations were going to the DNC. If it wasn’t illegal, it was damn close in my opinion! These evil liberals prey on people like this!

We just received one of these mailers in the name of a relative who lives in California. As to whether they are acceptable to the states for vote registration Please note the State of Wisconsin Government Accountability Board page I came across: http://gab.wi.gov/node/2276 Clearly some areas of the nation are accepting these completed forms as legitimate requests to register to vote (after having been collected and sent in by The Voter Participation Center.

I think you’re right, Lin. The dismissive attitude I’ve received from SBE is disconcerting. We did have 8 years of Democrat Governors prior to Bob McDonnell and those Governors appointed lots of people during that period.
I still think that spoofing and address to another location with no accountability is fraudulent.

Actually 23286 is whaqt is called a “Unique” zip code. They are used for High volume locations likehospitsls universities and government offices. A lwtter amiled to the address as shown will, in fact arrive at the board of elections at 1100 bank street in Richmond.

Maybe you should proof read your comment before posting. But I’m not so sure that you are correct about where this mailing will go or who will have possession of it in the meantime. All I know is that they represented themselves as the State Board of Elections, with a full address that was correct, but with a zip that would re-route it to someone else.
That, to me, is a willful misrepresentation and fraud. If it ends up having a happy ending……..I’d be surprised.

Just an FYI here…I work in a Voter Registration office in Virginia. This company sends the State Board of Elections the forms and then they sort and send them to each city and county in our State. Everything is sealed tight and our office staff are the only people viewing and entering voter information, new registrants, changes and deletes. Just letting you know….

And who sees them before you do? Any idea?
Also, if this partisan group receives one of these applications would they not use their data to determine if this was a voter who is ideologically aligned before submitting? Meaning, if they researched someone and found them to be antithetical to that ideology, would they still submit the form? And if they didn’t, would a sender feel they were registered to vote when, in fact, they are not.
Why does it have to go to this third party first? Why not use the REAL address?

Forget the written address and zip – its the BAR CODE that needs to be decoded as that is what the mail system will route to. Unfortunately the image on this post is too fuzzy to get a clear image, but there are sites that will decode a cropped image of the barcode itself.

The VPC did not use the wrong address. The VPC has a business reply mail (BRM) account through the United States Postal Service (USPS) to ensure that applicants can return their registration forms with no charge to themselves or the state. The zip code is different than what is listed on the GAB’s web site because the USPS assigns a zip+4 used specifically for a BRM account to send mail directly back to a state agency. It is very common when using a BRM account for USPS to use zip codes that differ from those used when sending mail with first class stamps.

I recommend that you refer to the Brennan Center for Justice to get accurate info on why a register to vote movement is in effect. It is not a conspiracy to allow for voter fraud. The Republican party is working and has effectively passed voter legislation in many states that will eliminate certain voter groups from voting in the upcoming election by eliminating same day voter registration, restricting voting hours, and erecting other barriers to a democratic process. We cherish our democratic system and yet the Republican party has made it a goal to make it difficult for certain groups of people to vote without photo ID and are imposing obstacles to registering to vote in order to create an electoral advantage for their party. As we celebrate the birth of democracy in Egypt and elsewhere we ourselves are guilty of undermining and taking for granted our cherished system of government here at home. I wish I could say that voter fraud was leading the way in the Republican agenda to make it harder to vote (and this includes our vets, those with disabilities and seniors among others), but if you do your research relying on trustworthy and unbiased sources you will discover that winning the election has usurped the democratic process for some…sad, but true.
