The good folks at marketwatch.com who watch the market have reported that the figures for March durable goods orders declined by 4.2%, a larger than expected decline. February orders were also revised downwards from a 2.4% gain to a 1.9% gain. Mainly due to lower orders at Boeing, commercial aircraft orders were down 47.6%. Boeing is the country’s largest exporter, by the way.
If stuff isn’t being ordered, people don’t need to make it and that is bad news for future economic growth and the unemployed.
Let’s see, we already had “green shoots” and the “recovery summer” which led nowhere. Now we just have the ball and chain of Obama’s economic policies and that old economic sinking feeling again, and again, and again.
