Pioneer Global Warming alarmist, retracts climate armageddon theory, now a “skeptic”

24 Apr

James Lovelock,  who forecast gloom and doom about the Earth just 6 years ago in a fanciful article claiming global warming would cause Mankind to die off by the billions leaving only  a few survivors, is now singing a different tune. The inventor of the Gaia hypothesis now admits he, and the other alarmist really do not know what the climate is doing.

Here’s what he has said in his retraction in an interview with MSNBC.

“The problem is we don’t know what the climate is doing. We thought we knew 20 years ago. That led to some alarmist books – mine included – because it looked clear-cut, but it hasn’t happened,” Lovelock said.

“The climate is doing its usual tricks. There’s nothing much really happening yet. We were supposed to be halfway toward a frying world now,” he said.

“The world has not warmed up very much since the millennium. Twelve years is a reasonable time… it (the temperature) has stayed almost constant, whereas it should have been rising – carbon dioxide is rising, no question about that,” he added.

The environmental concern I have is what is the effect on the climate from all the hot air generated by politicians?

excellent post, very informative. I wonder why the opposite experts of this sector don’t notice this.

You should proceed your writing. I’m confident, you’ve a great readers’ base already!
