Obama Still Stumping for Tax Increases during an Election Year. The War on America continues Undeterred by Facts.

01 Apr

In his weekly radio/video address the president continues on his mission to convince Congress to pass the so-called ‘Buffett Rule’, a scheme designed to punish achievers, not to raise actual revenues to the government.

President John F. Kennedy recognized that cutting taxes actually raises the level of the overall economy benefitting evevryone at every level.

He famously said ‘a rising tide lifts all boats.’  The top marginal rates were cut from 90% to 70% and revenues to the government increased by an inflation adjusted 33%.

But Obama doesn’t care about a rising tide.  He’s all about class warfare.

Nothing more.

It only stands to reason that where there’s sacrifice, there’s someone collecting the sacrificial offerings. Where there’s service, there is someone being served. The man who speaks to you of sacrifice is speaking of slaves and masters, and intends to be the master.

Capital gains taxes are at historic lows. Total taxes taken in by the federal government are at their lowest since 1950. Taxpayers at all income levels have lower rates. Greatest cuts in tax rates over the last ten years have gone to the wealthiest households. And yet we face high levels of unemployment. Also, annual growth in GDP was greater in the years1950 to 1980 when the top marginal tax rate was above 60% then in later years 1980 to 201 when it was below 40%. While just raising taxes is not the only answer, it needs to be part of solution.
