Republican Debate on Foreign Policy Tonight 11/12/2011

12 Nov

On CBS at 8 Eastern.

Will Cain be able to get through a foreign policy debate using his typical generalities?

Will Perry remember the name of the country he shares a border with as Governor of Texas?

Will Gingrich resist the temptation to give a lecture on the history of western civilization?

Will Huntsman speak in mandarin chinese?

Will Ron Paul promise to withdraw from the world stage?

The debate will be moderated by CBS’s Scott Pelley and National Journal’s Major Garrett and will be streamed at both websites.  CBS.  National Journal.

From the blog stats I have determined that nobody cares what channel the Saturday night Republican debate is on.

Yes. Even the host of the debate, CBS, nodded off and went to their usual NCIS. Republicans should absolutely refuse such treatment in the future. Either you’re hosting a full debate or you’re not.

Funny thing is, this debate was actually going very well. Even for Rick Perry.
Not so much for crazy eyes Paul. Or Santorum. Or Bachmann.

I liked Perry’s statement that foreign aid should start at zero for each country every year, then we’ll decide, country by country, who is deserving of the largess that we have to borrow in order to provide.

Bachmann’s retort to that is that it is absolutely essential to keep paying Pakistan because they have nukes.
Like the payments we’ve made over the years to Pakistan were of a benefit to us.
