I love the awkward look on the Commandant of the Marine Corps’ face. In fairness, they were probably at attention if it was a purely military function and shouldn’t have cheered until Hail to the Chief is over and the CinC says “at ease” or “chill out” or whatever someone that has never put the uniform on would say.
Disciplined military personnel don’t really cheer their leadership because most military leaders are strong, self-confident people that don’t need an echo chamber in order to make it through the day. Careerists notwithstanding…
