Benjamin Netanyahu at age 28 vs. Obama at age 49 3/4

25 May

Netanyahu could have run circles around 49 year old Barack Obama when he was 21 years his junior.

Did Benjamin Netanyahu say anything in the last week that runs counter to this segment from 1978?

In 1978 I was dope-smoking my way through George Washington University, a few blocks from the White House, without a care in the world. It was there that I witnessed the fall of the Shah of Iran. The Shah had come to America for his last official visit and had sent money to Iranian students across America to come to his defense as he was to visit President Jimmy Carter, a hopeless idealist who had summoned the Shah to complain about his human rights violations.

The Iranian students took the Shah’s money and came to Washington by the thousands. But not on his behalf. I saw something that shook me to my core. I had seen plenty of protests before, but this included flat bed trucks cruising down 21st Street with people acting out hangings, beheadings and firing squads, wailing in a language unfamiliar to me. It was shocking and frightening.

A soft American President ushered in Islamist militancy by siding with the enemies of Israel.

Sound familiar? Arab Spring anyone?

I knew that what I had seen was bad, but I didn’t know that within less than a year the Shah would be gone, the Ayatollah would be the supreme leader of a country that we all now fear, that they would seize our embassy and its occupants, and would eventually grow to be a probable nuclear power likely to threaten the western world in perpetuity.

In 1978 ‘Animal House’ and ‘Star Wars’ were in the theaters and most of America was enjoying the post VietNam head-in-the-sand lifestyle that we all wish to return to. I caught a glimpse of the enemy that day in DC.

I saw it again on the morning of 9/11/2001 which went well beyond the play acting of the Islamists I saw back in 78. Islamists are a patient bunch. It took another 33 years for this same group to pull off 9/11.

Mr. Netanyahu has known that enemy, first hand, for decades. And while Barack, the man child, was infusing himself with anti-American hate, cocaine, socialism, communism, a little weed, and had already been well entrenched in the Muslim world, Benjamin Netanyahu was deeply involved in a fight for survival for his people.

Netanyahu is a rock and proved it again this week. He is well familiar with the tactics of the lefty-muslim sympathizers and the bad outcomes they spawn and he’d have no part of it.

Obama also revealed himself this week.

Come to your own conclusions.

Not so much a Hat Tip as a Confession: McMartin forwarded this clip to me and I guess he went to bed. I urged him to post it but that’s when the Bad Angel P. Henry couldn’t help himself. It’s like that Disney commercial. I’m too excited to sleep.

Great post, your 1978/79 DC eyewitness account puts it all in perspective.

In the same time frame I was also going to GW and I recall a class in transportation planning which was full of Iranian students who were so weak in English they wanted to copy my notes! There was only one other American besides myself in the class, although at the time I did not perceive the upcoming risks, either.

In any event, it is painfully obvious what an incredible leader Netanyahu is and what a pathetic wimp Obama is. Personally, I believe Obama wants to side with the terrorists but is afraid to say so openly, so he always tries to put Israel in a box, so as to hasten its destruction. Netanyahu’s speech before Congress was one of the greatest I have heard since Reagan. Netanyahu has a powerful ally called the truth.
