Musings on the scene

04 Aug

Many different topics in a single post, but in some oblique way they are related.  I’m having an ADHD kinda day.

State Debt per Capita:

Big Winner: Nebraska @ $15 per resident.

Big loser:  Connecticut @ $4859 per resident.

Go to CNN Money to scroll over your state on the map to see your share.

That’s just State debt, not to be confused with your share of the national debt, which is

$43,074.27

No wonder Obama’s approval rating has plummeted to 41 points and the people are now openly defying this President and his agenda.

Missouri sent yet another volley over Obama’s bow by voting 71% in favor of Proposition C yesterday, which would prohibit the federal government from requiring that people buy health insurance and would also prohibit penalties for not doing so.

Happy Birthday, Mr. President!

More about those approval ratings.

Gallup has a nice comparative analysis about average Presidential approval ratings by quarter.

Even though Obama benefits from a fawning and protective media who cover up and propagate his lies, in direct contrast with a media that attacked, maligned and impugned George W. Bush daily, Obama’s numbers are shockingly low (47.9%) at this point in his presidency, compared to Bush’s (74.9%).

So it seems that the media is going down with the ship as their narrative still remains overwhelmingly positive for an underwhelmingly bad President.

It seems that the disrespect this miserable failure* has shown the American people, our history and traditions has resulting in chickens coming home to roost.**

The Resolute Desk was built from the timbers of the HMS Resolute and was a gift from Queen Victoria to President Rutherford B. Hayes.

This desk is considered a national treasure and a symbol of the Presidency.  Get your @#$%^%$ feet off OUR DESK, you subhuman piece of excrement!

“He is a self-made man and worships his creator.” – John Bright

*  It is time that we co-opt a favorite description used by many on the left to describe George W. Bush.  If this smug little punk isn’t a miserable failure I don’t know the meaning of the term.

**  Another fave from the vault courtesy of Rev. Jeremiah Wright in full blame America first mode.

Hat tips to Pedro for the Bright quote and Tom for the Resolute photo.

That was quite a smorgasbord of musings….To me the bottom line is that it is so blatantly obvious how misguided Obama’s policies are, as evidenced by the polls and the Missouri vote, that the only people left who don’t see reality are the media who have gone hook, line and sinker for the hopey-changey nonsense.

Guess what, people who have to live in the real world aren’t buying those newspapers and magazines anymore or watching those new shows. But not even that fact penetrates the media’s liberal biases. Do anyone of them have a clue as to why Newsweek was sold for only $1.00 ? Not even that can be blamed on Bush. What will it take to get through to these people? I am just baffled….

I had to fly to Detroit and back for a meeting yesterday, which explains my greater than usual lack of focus.
