We are now in the midst of a contentious presidential primary season. This should be an opportunity for Republicans and conservatives to flood the airwaves (and the Internet) promoting the conservative vision of America that a Republican president and congress would deliver. Instead of seizing the moment, Republicans have, by and large, allowed the main stream media and their super PACs to control the narrative squabbling (often dishonestly) over meaningless issues like tax returns, private equity, professional consulting, private investments, and personal attacks.

In debate after debate we have witnessed a professional wrestling type skirmishes which are seldom based on policy. What has been described as debate fatigue is most likely due to the fact that the Republicans have not used this opportunity to remind Americans what they are for. They have spent most of the time either attacking each other or answering biased questions designed to paint Republicans in a bad light.

What the Republican candidates need to do is to communicate their vision for the future, define what they stand for and what that will mean for them and their fellow Americans. They need to follow the lead of their rising star Marco Rubio. Watch and listen as Senator Rubio delivers this week’s GOP Address.

Gee, what happened this week that we need to discuss?

The economy grew by 1.7% in 2011 and it was reported that Ener1 Inc., a battery maker, which had received $118 million of our tax dollars filed for bankruptcy. Does anyone see a connection?

Fitch’s downgraded Italy and Spain. Are you surprised? What took Fitch’s so long? Italy is the third largest economy in Europe, which raises the obvious question, where is there a good European economy? This makes me wonder if economies 1 and 2 really will want to bail everyone else out. I am guessing not. Someday the Europeans will realize that they can not borrow their way out of a debt crisis. Someday, maybe, possibly…..was that a unicorn I just saw?

President “Class Warfare” doesn’t like being referred to as the “Food Stamp” President. Apparently he believes that the increase in food stamp dependence is Bush’s fault. You never heard that before, have you? Do you know why I think Obama does not like that reference? Because it is true. When you stick a pig it squeals. Oink!

The Romney-Gingrich slugfest is really out of control with major establishment Republicans criticizing Gingrich. When Bob Dole criticizes you, you know you have really insulted the Republican establishment. Keep in mind that it is these establishment Republicans who could never win, or did I sleep through the Dole presidency? Say whatever you want about Gingrich, but while Romney was imposing Romneycare on Massachusetts and running for the Senate to the left of Ted Kennedy, Gingrich was winning Republican control of the House, pushing welfare reform over the objections of President Clinton, pushing for a balanced budget and lower capital gains taxes. He may or may not be a Reaganite, and he has many flaws, but he does pursue his agenda. Let’s hope, if he wins, it is a conservative one.

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer met President Obama on the tarmac outside Phoenix and had a reportedly tense exchange because of her comments about him in her book. President “Thin Skin” walked off while the Governor was in mid-sentence. What a class act he is. And this is a Nobel Peace Prize winner? Gov. Brewer’s book then zoomed in sales on Amazon, with the largest ever jump in book popularity in one day. Good for her!

Have a great weekend. Keep hope alive! Regime change in 2012!

I have to admit that I never listen to President Obama’s speeches, including the State of the Union address. Not just because I know that the substance of the speech will be wrong, but I find him to be an off-putting speaker. The jutting Mussolini-like chin and head turning seem mechanical. He never looks you in the eye and levels with you. I find that his style distances himself from the American people rather than connecting with them. Unlike many people who believe him to be a master orator, I find the cadence of his speech to be off meter, especially the way his sentences drop off at the end. To my ear that sounds wrong, but rhetoric, like beauty, is in the ear of the listener. Let’s put it this way, iTunes is not selling a lot of downloads of his speeches.

Nonetheless, the President’s speeches are never really surprises, nor are they original. There is really no need to ever reprogram his teleprompter. Class warfare, more taxes, more government and more regulations. Haven’t we been hearing this for decades? How is that working out for our once prosperous country?

The President’s new mantra is fairness, a word which does not appear in the Declaration of Independence or Constitution. I suspect that the Founding Fathers may have known a few things about life and the real world that President Obama does not, but somehow fairness has been elevated to the level of an Eleventh Commandment. Thou shalt be fair.

Let’s talk about fairness and taxes.

If you are rich (as President Obama constantly redefines it) you do not pay your fair share of taxes. What is his benchmark? Well, if he wants the government to take more of your money then you are unfair! Aren’t you glad I cleared that up for you? How can you even look at yourself in the mirror in the morning?

Consider this. Like many people, you work hard, save some money and buy a stock. You now own part of a business. Good. That is the American way and I love it and fully support it. Working, saving, investing, business ownership and private property have created a wonderful nation, but I bet you didn’t know you were being unfair in the process. I guess the joke is on you!

Let’s say the stock you own earns one dollar of profits on your behalf. Being the unfair person you are you want your dollar. Not so fast you greedy capitalist! First, the company has to pay the federal corporate income tax, up to 38%. Magically, your dollar is now only $0.62. You are still looking greedy wanting your $0.62, but at least you are being fair, comforted by the fact that some of your taxes went to bailout banks, unions, car companies, Solyndra and Greece. But wait, it gets better and there is more fairness to come.

Ok, you now have $0.62, but don’t spend it quite yet. You now get to pay the federal government 15% because you got a dividend! Let’s call it $0.09. Amazing! That original $1 is now a net $0.53 to you! You greedy capitalist pig! You are so unfair!

But wait, there is even more fairness coming your way! Do you live in a state with an income tax? Let’s say a state takes another 5% from the $0.62, let’s call it $0.03. Now you only have $0.50 out of the original $1 in profits and President Obama has the gall to think you are the one being unfair.

I have news for the President. The November election is going to be very unfair to him.

Lastly, kudos to Seal Team Six. We have the greatest military the world has ever known. Hopefully, the next President will appreciate them and be worthy of being Commander in Chief.

Update: The maximum corporate tax rate is 35% not 38% as stated above. You would keep a few more cents that the federal government did not grab. Don’t spend it all in one place.

Here is an excerpt from a Presidential debate that you will never see on TV moderated by none other than your humble blogger, John D’Oh.

John D’Oh: Mr. President, as the incumbent let’s start with you and your record on the economy. Your stimulus bill created almost $1 trillion in spending and debt, yet the economy is limping along, unemployment including discouraged workers is over 16% and the federal deficit is out of control for the indefinite future. How do you defend these policy failures?

Barack Obama: Let me be clear. First of all, these are not failures. My policies have been a great success. We now have more people on food stamps and long-term unemployment than ever before. Creating dependency is hard work and I need four more years to complete the job. It isn’t easy crushing business investment and business formation in order to protect the little guy from being taken advantage of by non-union employers who would expect people to work in order to earn money. Since I and no one in my Administration had any experience in private business it took longer than expected to learn how to thwart business growth. Fortunately for the American people I am a quick learner. My policies prove that big, transformational government works for the average American. Just look at GM and the blazing success of the Chevy Volt. After billions in subsidies, only the batteries are catching fire.

However, bailouts can’t just go to fat cat Wall Street types who give me huge political campaign contributions. I inherited the worst economy since the Great Depression and that was Bush’s fault. It is a race baiting myth that Democratic control of Congress after the 2006 mid-term election had anything to do with our spending and deficit problems. In order to address the deficit problem that Bush left the country saddled with I had no choice but to create as much debt in 3 years as he did in 8 years. Bush’s deficits hurt the economy because the Republicans are racist, mean-spirited, misogynistic, homophobes. My deficits are investments because they helped me buy votes from the Democratic Party constituent base. If you believe otherwise you are a racist who does not want to spread the wealth by investing in people.

JD: Mr. Gingrich, your response to the President’s answer.

Newt Gingrich: I am glad you asked that question. In the global scheme of things, the big picture requires expansive, broad-based, creative thinking about the economy and the changing concept of unemployment, the evolving role of the federal government, world class insights for new economic growth scenarios and fundamental, individual-centered, choice optimizing entitlement reform. Racism is an outmoded construct not suitable for a post-industrial, new era, dynamic, global economy. I am clearly the smartest man in this debate.

JD: Yes, but what would you do?

NG: I would think in large, cosmic, broad-based, global terms. I will pontificate more. That will solve our problems. That and illuminating interstate highways with giant mirrors in outer space. It is better to illuminate a highway than to curse the darkness.

JD: Mr. President, your reaction to Mr. Gingrich’s comments.

BO: Was that reference to darkness a racist comment? I am the smartest man in this debate. I went to Columbia and Harvard and I have the transcripts I won’t release to prove it.

JD: Mr. Gingrich, the next question goes to you. Let’s turn to foreign policy. The Obama Administration has alienated our two closest allies, Israel and Great Britain; it has kowtowed to terrorist regimes and led from behind on all issues. What would you do to restore America’s role as leader of the free world?

NG: I am glad you asked that question. In the global scheme of things, the big picture requires over-the-horizon, broad based, threat deterring, creative thinking about complex, highly intertwined international relations, questions of war and peace, and paradigmatic shifts from outmoded thought processes to new intellectual models for understanding and resolving conflicts between nations and non-state actors before the critical mass of a violent threshold is reached.

JD: Mr. President, your response to Mr. Gingrich.

BO: Let me be clear. If you believe that you are a racist. It is Bush’s fault that people of color hate us. I even hate us for them. Rev. Wright was correct, G** D***America. The Zionist Entity has thwarted the legitimate aspirations of the Palestinian people by not shelling them the way Hamas shells the Little Satan from Gaza. Very tricky that Netanyahu. Michelle has every reason to be an angry black woman and I have hell to pay when I sneak out for a burger with Plugs, I mean Vice President Biden.

JD: Mr. Gingrich, your response to the President’s comments.

NG: Giving people of color around the globe the opportunity to be a school janitor would get them on the first rung of the competitive, high-tech, globalized employment ladder. America needs to be the foremost leader in pursuing creative modalities of worldwide custodial outreach. We can not afford to lead from behind on this far-reaching, critical issue.

JD: Mr. Gingrich, any final thoughts?

NG: Thank you, I am glad you asked that question. In the global scheme of things, the big picture requires intense, broad based, creative thinking and paradigmatic shifts from outmoded thought processes to new, far-reaching, fundamentally different intellectual models. That will solve our nation’s most fundamental, abstract problems. That and more pontificating.

JD: Mr. President, any final thoughts?

BO: It’s Bush’s fault. Republicans are racists and cling to their guns and Bibles.

JD: Thank you gentlemen and may God Save America.

If you have been paying attention, you may have noticed that all it takes to create a surge in the race for the Republican Presidential nomination is to launch an assault on Obama, China, or the main stream media. Newt Gingrich is no different from and no more credible a presidential candidate than Donald Trump. It is only a matter of time before Gingrich steps on his dick and fades away. This is like a nascar race, Santorum is hanging back and waiting for Newt (the Jimmy Spencer of presidential politics) to wreck.

When Juan Williams threw the race card at Newt Gingrich in the last Fox News Republican debate Williams revealed more about his liberal mindset than he realized.

No. Work is not demeaning. Even janitorial work.

And yes, lying about and living on handouts IS demeaning.

PJ Media’s Bill Whittle dissembles the liberal argument masterfully, as always.

I, too, worked part time as a janitor when I was in High School and it never crossed my mind that I was being demeaned. I had money in my pocket, which my non-working friends did not and I learned the responsibility of showing up, working hard and reaping the rewards. These lessons have served me quite well in my adult life.

But, as Whittle points out, the Democratic Party requires poor, defenseless government dependents if they are to win elections. Without the underclass of they’re own making, the Democratic Party will forever be in the political wilderness.

We have all felt it. Most of us have fought it. The establishment drumbeat telling us that we must get in line and support the candidate they claim is most moderate and therefore the most electable. Deep down we know this will lead to failure; we have seen it before. In recent history we got in line behind Bob Dole and we failed, we got in line behind John McCain and we failed. Now Karl Rove and the Republican establishment are once again beating the drum and telling us who we must nominate, but this time as in 1980, we have a candidate who is not afraid to propose bold ideas and tailor a plan to benefit all Americans and to get America back to work by working together.
